SNOW STORM 2/9/17 - JFK IS OPEN



JFK IS OPEN 
The Airtrain and Mass Transit are running, the Lefferts Blvd entrance is closed and cars are being re-directed to the Aqueduct entrance.


Officers scheduled to work today need to come to work.  If you called out and can make it in after the snow tapers off you are encouraged to do so your shift will be adjusted. 


It is recommended you bring additional snacks/food and beverages in the event you are asked to work overtime as the restaurants and concessions may run out as flights are delayed. 


All officers scheduled in tomorrow morning are expected to come to work.  JFK will be resuming normal operations. Roads and Mass transit will be back to normal and back on schedule.    
Parking Update:
The FSD has authorized free parking for TSA Employees in the Red Garage at Terminal 8 from 0300 Thursday (2/9) until 0300 Friday (2/10).  JFK SIDA and TSA ID MUST BE SHOWN. Please consult the JFK Blog for further details.




Weather Update:
Rain, Sleet and Snow, becoming all snow after 7am.
The snow could be heavy at times. Patchy blowing snow after 11am. Temperature falling to around 27 by 5pm. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. Windy, with a northwest wind 23 to 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 7 to 11 inches possible.
