Partial Air Train Shutdown


Due to scheduled system maintenance, a partial shutdown of the Air Train JFK system from Federal Circle to Howard Beach (including Lefferts Blvd.), will take place beginning Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 1:00 AM and continue through Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 5:00 PM.

 

During this time, free shuttle bus service will be provided in both directions from Federal Circle to Howard Beach and Lefferts Blvd. Stations, using the attached bus plan. At Federal Circle, passengers can transfer to train service at all terminals. AirTrain service will continue to operate a normal schedule from Federal Circle to the Central Terminal Area and Jamaica Station.

AIR TRAIN SHUTDOWN May 6-7

Due to scheduled system maintenance,  a full shutdown of the AirTrain JFK system will take place beginning Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10:00 PM through Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 7:00 AM.  

 

Free shuttle bus service will be provided using the attached bus plan.

3/14/17 at 5:05 PM. Following prior suspensions, MTA has announced the following mass transit restorations:

Notification issued 3/14/17 at 5:05 PM. Following prior suspensions, MTA has announced the following mass transit restorations:

- LIRR service continues to operate on a normal schedule with scattered delays
- Staten Island Railway service has resumed as of 3:15PM this afternoon, 3/14
- MTA subway above-ground service will resume at 6PM tonight, 3/14
- Metro-North will resume limited hourly service starting at 6PM tonight until 11PM on the Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven lines. There will be no branch service. Full Metro-North service will resume tomorrow morning, 3/15, per the regular weekday schedule.
- MTA bus service will begin running normally at 5AM tomorrow morning, 3/15
- Express MTA subway service will begin operating normally at 7AM or earlier tomorrow morning, 3/15
- Access-a-Ride paratransit service has begun taking reservations for tomorrow’s commute

Commuters should expect residual delays on all mass transit and visit www.mta.info for details.

Winter Weather Advisory is no longer in effect.  Air Train and Mass Transit will be resuming regular operations (check MTA website for status updates.)






All Officers are expected to report to work at their scheduled times.

TSA Employees Authorized to Park at Red Garage at T8


The FSD has authorized free parking for TSA Employees in the Red Garage at Terminal 8 from 2000 hours on Monday (3/13)  until 2000 hours on Tuesday (03/14).  JFK SIDA and TSA PIV MUST BE SHOWN.

Please be advised, due to impending inclement weather conditions the JFK Security ID Office will be closed Tuesday, March 14, 2017. All individuals scheduled to be fingerprinted or complete the Issuing Officer and/or SIDA training courses tomorrow will need to reschedule.

SNOW STORM 2/9/17 - JFK IS OPEN



JFK IS OPEN 
The Airtrain and Mass Transit are running, the Lefferts Blvd entrance is closed and cars are being re-directed to the Aqueduct entrance.


Officers scheduled to work today need to come to work.  If you called out and can make it in after the snow tapers off you are encouraged to do so your shift will be adjusted. 


It is recommended you bring additional snacks/food and beverages in the event you are asked to work overtime as the restaurants and concessions may run out as flights are delayed. 


All officers scheduled in tomorrow morning are expected to come to work.  JFK will be resuming normal operations. Roads and Mass transit will be back to normal and back on schedule.
